The recent announcement by Google to use Google Suggest by default on their home pages may have excited quite a few people, but there are definitely few of you who may not want the extra feature on your home page.
To disable Google Suggest Just head to the Google Preferences page, find the Query Suggestions section at the bottom of the page, and select Do not provide query suggestions in the search box and press save preferences button.
To Enable Google Suggest Select Provide query suggestions in the search box.
